Young Regional Leaders share their stories for a better Regional Australia in Trailblazers 2023

The 2023 Trailblazers will be in Canberra for the next week before pitching their projects to community leaders. They will also have their stories told on the ABC, exclusive access to the Trailblazers Development Fund, and inclusion in an ongoing and bespoke mentoring program to continue building their leadership capacity.

The Trailblazer Program would not be possible without the support of the Australian Government through The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts; The Department of Health and Aged Care; The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations; and The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

For more than two decades, ABC Heywire and the Trailblazers program has empowered young regional and rural Australians to tell their stories and create positive changes in communities across our nation.

This year’s Trailblazers are doing everything from running e-sports leagues, creating theatre and arts programs, and connecting young people to country through regenerative agricultural practices. These inspiring young people are demonstrating what’s possible with the right support.
