New Clare Valley Website

On Thursday night, the 23rd of May 2019 the Clare Valley Wine, Food & Tourism Centre (CVWFTC) together with Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid-North (RDAYMN), launched the new look clarevalley.com.au at Pikes, Slate Restaurant.

The updated website has been designed within the new Clare Valley Branding parameters and the tagline ‘Breathe It In.’ The new website is now a distributor of the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW), which is managed by the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC), and enables any tourism business to create and update their own profile and events. ATDW updates information instantly, as well as creating a consistent directory throughout the Clare Valley site. ATDW also populates other tourism sites such as southaustralia.com.au and australia.com.au.

This project was created to not only push the digital platform into the new branding but to create something streamlined, consistent and simplistic that encourages both locals and tourists alike to feel as though the beautiful Clare Valley Tourism Region is showcased for what it truly is on their screen.

July 2016 marked the beginning of the new promotional push for the Clare Valley on a digital scale. The combined website owners; The Clare Valley Business & Tourism Association (CVBTA), Clare Valley Wine & Grape Association (CVWGA) & Clare Valley Cuisine (CVC) embarked on a collaboration with the CVWFTC to manage the regional site. This brought fresh eyes and new ideas to the venture, with a part-time Promotional Coordinator employed.

A new venture for the site, in January 2018, was prompted by Amanda Redden, former Regional Tourism Manager, initially forming the project with Promotional Coordinator Tegan Adamson-Smith. The aim was not only to align the website with the new regional branding, but to collaborate the Clare Valley Tourism Region, which encompasses Clare & Gilbert Valley Council, Regional Council of Goyder, Wakefield Regional Council and Adelaide Plains Council. Collaboration within the Clare Valley Tourism Region is vital to the success of the Clare Valley on a tourism platform. The new data platform ATDW helps both interstate and intrastate users recognise what the region has to offer.

Manager of the CVWFTC, Paula Jones, reminds all businesses and events to register with ATDW and says ‘The Centre is offering support for everyone to register or update their ATDW profiles. Half hour sessions are available, and our staff will help your business or event get the most out of your listing. We ask that people please contact us to book a session.’

Thanks goes to Miram Ward (Regional Tourism Manager) & RDAYMN for supporting and co-funding the project, and to the founding associations for their continued input and support of the CVWFTC.

Both website and social media content are now in unison with the new branding and Promotional Coordinator, Tegan Adamson-Smith said, ‘We cannot wait to see the benefits of this project for clarevalley.com.au and for the region as a whole’.
