Website Northern and Yorke Landscape Board
We have a vacancy as a Landscape Officer (OPS3) that will be available from October, located in the ruggedly scenic and highly community-spirited Rangelands District.
The Landscape Officer engages with the community and other key stakeholders to encourage and involve them in sustainable environmental programs and projects, in alignment with the objectives of the Northern & Yorke Landscape Board’s Plans. This is achieved through the delivery of local operations plans which include on-ground works and support towards education and awareness activities. Other regular activities include pest plant and animal control, landholder support and advice regarding sustainable land management and water affecting activity support. Ideally, we would prefer the successful candidate to live in the district (from Burra to Orroroo), however we are open to some flexibility.
Your community engagement skills, capacity to work within a close-knit team, strong writing skills and knowledge of ecological and nature conservation as well as land management practices and principles, will see you step over the line to success.
The Northern & Yorke Region includes extremely distinctive landscapes that are highly productive in broad acre cropping, to sheep and cattle grazing, through to grape growing and wine production. We have significant areas of undisturbed bushland, native grasslands, mangrove forests, glorious beaches and wetlands. Our region is the home of the Narungga, Peramangk, Ngadjuri, Nukunu and Kaurna First Nations people and we are proud to walk and work with these traditional custodians.
