The Tour Up Over is a popular mountain biking event held in the Southern Flinders Ranges. To be held next on 2 – 3 July 2011, this will be the third running of the event. Hosted by Warren and Jane Luckraft at their spectacular Flinders Ranges property, the 2011 Tour Up Over will excite mountain biking enthusiasts and newcomers to the sport alike.

Online registration forms are now available for competitors on the following websites: www.bendlebyranges.com and www.southernflindersranges.com.au.  Bendleby Ranges offers a range of camping accommodation choices to suit all riders and their families.  All events will start near the camp kitchen, where food will be available during the weekend.  The Free Style Boys will entertain with their acrobatic feats over the two days, and the entertainment on the Saturday night with a local band will round off the weekend.

Tourism Development Officer for the Southern Flinders Regional Tourism Authority is enjoying his involvement with the event. “The organisers put a lot of effort each year into the Tour Up Over to make it a fantastic event. The publicity the 2010 event received on the TV show Power to the Pedal and through other media demonstrated the interest the community has in cycling. This year is going to be even bigger and better!”

The Tour Up Over is a mountain biking festival for families. Kids can develop their cycling skills on the practice track, and participate in children’s bike races. For the mountain biking enthusiasts there are the long distance races, planned for distances from 20 kilometres to 100 kilometres.

Bendleby Ranges property owner Warren Luckraft is developing more cycle trails, and in particular single track, every year. “Each year we put in more mountain biking trails, to complement the bushwalking and four wheel driving tracks we already have. At the 2011 Tour Up Over we will have more single track than ever before!”
