Rural Tertiary Hardship Fund Grants Now Open
Students from rural or regional areas can now apply for a Rural Tertiary Hardship Fund (RTHF) grant to help them attend university. Round 2 of the RTHF is now open for applications and will close 5pm (AEST) Friday 29 July 2011.
Southern Flinders Regional Tourism Authority Wins National Award
The Australian Bicycling Achievement Awards recently recognised the Southern Flinders Regional Tourism Authority (SFRTA) with the Bicycling Achievement Award for Local Government at a ceremony held at Canberra.

New research into the economic impact of Cycle Tourism in the Southern Flinders Ranges has begun. An application was made to the Federal Government’s Regional and Rural Research and Development Grant Program to fund the research.

Saturday 7th May 2011 saw the 2nd Annual Southern Flinders Business, Training and Employment Awards held at the Port Football & Community Sporting Club in Port Pirie. Over 150 people enjoyed a two course meal along with local wine and entertainment from musical duo, Helter Skelter.
